Manager – Milk Procurement

Our client a prominent FMCG company in Colombo is seeking a seasoned Manager – Milk Procurement to lead and optimize the end to end supply of high quality raw milk from farmers, suppliers and cooperatives. The ideal candidate will ensure a consistent supply chain, maintain strong supplier relationships and uphold quality and compliance standards essential for efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete milk procurement process to ensure uninterrupted supply in required quality and quantity.

• Build and maintain strong, long term relationships with farmers, suppliers, cooperatives and collection centers.

• Implement and monitor procurement strategies that enhance efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality compliance.

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements and food safety guidelines.

• Work closely with production, quality assurance, logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operational flow.

• Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiate contracts and manage procurement agreements.

• Utilize data and reporting tools to monitor procurement performance, quality trends and operational metrics.

Candidate Profile

• 5–8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or dairy industry operations.

• Strong knowledge of milk quality standards, sourcing practices and supply chain structures.

• Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting; exposure to ERP systems is an advantage.

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Dairy Science, Supply Chain, Business Management or a related field.

• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work in field environments and collaborate with cross functional teams.
